We’re kicking off the year at camp Shawarma Bar, once again, with our collaboration with four of London’s hottest chefs who, as per usual, will be pimping the humble pita adding their personal stamp to it and then showcasing it on the menu for one week only.

2019, however, brings a twist to proceedings as each chef is tasked with creating a purely plant-based pita. Everyone will be looking to make the most mouthwatering creation, only this year, no animals will be harmed in the making…

The collaboration will culminate in the grand-finale on Sunday 3rd February, the one-off Pita Party, when all of the chefs will come together to showcase their dish. Guests will try a mini pita from all four guest chefs and a surprise dessert pita from Vicky Heafield (Shawarma Bar). There’s lunch or dinner sittings to choose from and everyone will also get a Berber & Q beer on the house compliments of our good friends at Coalition Brewing.

Here’s the line up;

DJ BBQ – Cajun-spiced grilled halloumi, garlic-buttered hispi cabbage and dirty onions

Meriel Armitage (Club Mexicana) – Beer Marinated Carne Asada pita with pink onions, chile de arbol salsa, sour cream, pickled chillies, coriander & valentina

Neil Campbell (Rovi) – celeriac shawarma, bkeila, and fermented tomato

Ali Borer (Smoking Goat) – Thai wild mushroom and tofu larb with a red Nahm Jim

Keep your eyes peeled as each chef takes the pita platform throughout January, and then grab your tickets to the party on Sunday February 3rd for the final showdown…
